Poem - Childhood

I love how you are part of my childhood
Part of what I miss most
Distance hasn't changed how we act
You are my best friend

Looking back makes the future hard
Our dreams at being rock stars and being famous
I don't want our dreams to die

Friends come and go
but you are always by my side
I don't know where you will be later on

Let's go back to the time when we stayed up all night
Whispering about silly things
My childhood friend and friend to the end

I knew you will be there though it all
Our friendship will never die
Let's go back to our childhood

Short Story

This one started late last night and it has no title.  If you have a title I will gladly take the suggestion.
-----------------------------------
It all started with a window.

This window wasn't just a window by my only glimpse of the reality I have tried to escape to.  Those years went by with no sight of the outside world and only my mother's idea of perfect.  Trapped inside that house with only my mother's teaching and ideas brain washed into my head.

That one day when I felt brave, I pulled back that curtain and took a look outside.  There you were.  Blond hair that covered your eyes, is all that I saw before our eyes connected.  I dove back inside and didn't remove the curtain again.

Weeks went by and your image won't go away.  Mother yells as I try and finish my school work to her liking.  All I could think about was that window.

It all started with a window.
-----------------------------------
I am not in that house any more.  I ran off on my 18th birthday, and vowed never to return.  That boy with the blond hair is still etched in my memories.

It has been only six months out of that house but  I find myself longing to go back where I am loved,  I have to tell constantly remind myself I can't.  The one thing I do want to do is find that boy.  There was something there when he looked at me.

The streets are harsh.  I can't quite tell you how I have made it this far.  I didn't bring anything with me but the clothes on my back and my mother's little bit of cash.  I started out scared of everything around me.  I have had no exposure to the world at its worst.  I didn't go far from home, just into the city.  I am living in a homeless shelter under a false name, Elizabeth Maria Carter.  I don't trust anyone just yet but I don't mind talking about somethings.  Most of my house life are kept put away and I don't plan on removing them.  The safe within my head is locked tight.

I am more of a people watcher, than a talker.  I sit in the living room with the other kids and I watch them interact.  They have tried many times to talk to me but I normally have a short conversation and try to go back to my book.  I love to read but as long as I have my book I can watch without interruption.

The one lady I feel comfortable talking to is Judy, she runs the shelter.  She has tried to get me to open up but these stories are my own.  I really like Judy and she is a nice lady but she wants to know too much.  I would much rather keep all of this to myself and hope that the suffering I am enduring will go away once time goes by.  I know these are bad hopes but I don't need other people in my business.

After a few weeks have gone by I made one friend, Kate.  She shares a room with me and I decided that being friends wouldn't be all that bad. She is nice and ran away from her home at 18 also.  She is very quiet about her former home life but is outgoing and wants to start her own life.  She came her 2 weeks before I showed up and has been trying to figure out what the next step is.  I told her a little about myself, such as, I use to live close by and my father died when I was very young.  I told her about the same things I told Judy.

Poem - Love and War

It's been days gone by
Since you have been on my mind
The shots can't make you hide
Yet...I am all alone

You are all that keeps me alive
The fight is all I have left
I hope you are smiling
Still...I fight on today

Bombs are surrounding me
Do you remember my last words?
I will make it home soon
Yet...there are no promises

I hold yourpicture tight
You bring a smile to my face
Death surrounds my mind now
Still...you are close to me

Comments

I have been super busy and my mind can not come up with any good stories but I can rant like there is no tomorrow.  I will come back to my stories when I get a chance to relax and have time to think but for now check out my other blog for some interesting thoughts.

Story - On the Spot #2

As I sit on the computer I wonder what silence is.  Is the absence of sound or is it the meaning of new life. I wonder this topic so very much.  How can silence make a change in how I think so will it bring upon new thoughts.  I hope to pass this time so very quickly and make a new thing out of this silence.  I am not sure what brought me to this silence. Was it the end of life or the passing of time?  I pray for just the passing of time but I have a feeling that it is the end of life.  My life ended so fast that I don't even remember the end of it.  I will sit in this in between till I find what I need to do next.  There is no life after death so far and I am unsure of a future here.  I am lost in this place.  There is nowhere for me to go and nothing for me to do.  I walk amongst my old friends but no one notices me here.  I am just gone from their lives like I was never there.  Why doesn't anyone miss me and why doesn't anyone look for me?  Have I never been alive?  Was I one with the living at one time?  I miss how I was once loved and cared for and now no one cares.  I am a ghost left to walk on this world.  A ghost that has no point left in its life.  I hope to pass the time away and make myself something.  There is nothing for a ghost to do but wonder how life can continue on this way.  I can only be lost when everyone forgets who I am.

Poem - Walls

Towering over me, staring down on me
Trying to stand up taller
I just keep falling down

I lay here all alone
A wall forming all around
No one to lend me a single hand

There is no way out of here
My head is spinning with the same thoughts
I keep running in the same circles

I am all alone at the bottom
Walls closing in to cut off air
Smaller and smaller I feel

There is nothing but the walls
Looking far off is the sky
To far too see when I can’t touch it

Farther and farther the sky goes
I am still all alone on the ground
No where to run, no where to hide

I lay here and wait
Waiting for the time to come
Waiting for these walls to fall

I have written more things down but either lost them or am to lazy to post them. If you haven't had a chance please try and read my horror story and tell me what you think.  I am still working on the beginning of the story and I think I am going to add an ending from yet again another person's point of view.  Keep reading.
